Thrive Cancer Rehabilitation Program

What is Thrive?

Thrive is designed to help patients restore and improve strength, endurance, function, mobility and quality of life during and post cancer treatment. Our evidence-based program focuses on land-based therapy under direction from a Rehabilitation Specialist in coordination with your Oncology Specialist and GP. The program uses a tailored, individualised combination of therapies in Waratah Rehabilitation Centre on the Mezzanine level of Waratah Private Hospital.

What is Thrive?

We know exercise helps to maintain good health, reduces the risk of chronic disease, and aids rehabilitation after disease.

The benefits of exercise during and after treatment include improvements and preservation in muscle strength, mass and power, physical functioning, range of motion and immune function. As well as improvements in chemotherapy completion rates.

Benefits also include a reduction in hospital time, psychological and emotional stress, and the number and severity of symptoms and side effects.*

Research indicates that exercise after diagnosis may improve long-term survival rates, at least in breast and colon cancer.*
