Where can I park?

IN LIGHT OF THE NSW GOVERNMENT COVID-19 LOCKDOWN, CAR PARK IS CLOSED TO VISITORS.

 

Waratah Private Hospital sits on 8-levels of secure parking with over 250 car spots. There is reserved parking adjacent to our radiology department and radiation oncology services in the lower levels of our hospital for individuals enrolled in treatment that provides added peace of mind and convenience for patients and their carers. There is also unrestricted street parking in the streets adjacent to the hospital.

Please note, during COVID-19 the carpark will be open between the following hours:

Monday – Friday: 5am-8pm
Saturday: 8am-4:30pm
Sunday: Closed

Please present to the reception area on the ground floor of the hospital and seek further instructions and directions from our friendly reception team.

  • Any health fund or entitlement cards, e.g. Medicare, Safety Net, Veterans’ Affairs. If proof of entitlements are not presented, full costs will be charged
  • Any paperwork not already forwarded to the hospital
  • Relevant x-rays, scans or films
  • Pathology/blood test results related to this admission
  • Current medications in their original containers and prescriptions, including repeat forms
  • Payment for estimated gap between fund benefits and hospital fees, or total estimated costs of hospitalisation if you do not have private health insurance
  • Reading material and/or activity books
  • Any aids such as walking stick and hearing aids
  • For a child – favourite toy, formula, bottle and any special dietary needs (if applicable).

In light of the NSW Government lockdown, all visiting has been suspended. Managerial discretion will be provided during end of life care.

On the day of your surgery, your surgeon and anaesthetist will see you before undergoing your procedure.  This may occur in the pre-admission waiting area or may occur within the theatre complex once you have been transferred into the operating room.

Your surgeon will discuss with you prior to booking into the hospital whether your operation will be a day procedure or if you are required to stay overnight.  If staying overnight, your surgeon should inform you how many nights are required for the procedure you are having.

If you coming in as a medical, rehabilitation or mental health patient, you will be provided with an estimate at the time you are referred and assessed by our team prior to arrival and confirmed by the team when you arrive. All stays are based on your individual needs and the treatment required.

You will need to discuss this with your doctor and hospital management as it will depend on whether it is required as part of your illness or procedure.

Prior to booking into the hospital it is advisable to discuss your current cover directly with your health fund.  At the time of referral our administration team will contact your health fund and check to see if you are covered for your particular procedure and stay.

You will be informed of any out of pocket expenses and excesses that are payable on admission.  As with all hospitals, you will be required to sign an informed financial consent form on arrival that outlines your obligations in relation to the finances for your stay.

One of our friendly administration team would be more than happy to provide you with a quote that you can pay on admission. Uninsured and self-funded patients who are registered with Medicare may be eligible for rebates where applicable.

Our team liaises directly with the insurer as we require written approval from the insurer that outlines what is covered in relation to your claim. If approval is declined we may be able to use your private health insurance if you are covered, otherwise a quote for your stay will be provided which can be paid by you on admission.

Our discharge time is by 10am each day once our team has finalised your discharge paperwork. If you are being picked up after this time, you may be asked to vacate and sit in our discharge lounge in order for us to clean and get the room ready for the next admission.
