Perinatal Psychiatry Day Program

Re-adjust your Perinatal Journey

Re-adjust your Perinatal Journey

Facilitated by our Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Clinicians, this program has been designed to provide a nurtured space to support you in your adjustment to parenthood, alongside education and practical strategies to help you navigate and recover from Postnatal Depression and Anxiety.

This ten-week program draws from extensive experience working with new parents in the postnatal period, along with strategies and insights from therapy models such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

This CBT/DBT program is designed for birth parents with babies up to 12 months, who have been diagnosed with perinatal mood disorder or experience low mood and/or anxiety. It has been flexibly designed to accommodate babies coming along to the program, and allows participants to make connections with other parents experiencing similar challenges.

We understand life with a baby can be unpredictable, so the program allows for time before and after the structured content set aside to settle in or attend to your baby’s needs. Some days you may be tired from a sleepless night with baby, or be feeling overwhelmed at the thought of meeting other parents. Many other participants will feel that way too! You won’t be pressured to share or talk when you’re not ready.
