About Dr Salim Maher
Dr Salim Maher is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with an interest in advanced liver disease & cirrhosis, gastrointestinal endoscopy & colonoscopy, and irritable/inflammatory bowel conditions.
He graduated from the University of Sydney Medical School and completed his specialist training at St George and Sutherland Hospitals. He subsequently undertook a Fellowship in liver failure & liver transplantation at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
He is a Staff Specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital and Visiting Medical Officer at St George Private Hospital and Waratah Private Hospital.
He is currently conducting his PhD on the interplay between diet’s effect on the gut microbiome and the development/progression of liver disease at the University of New Wales, in addition to teaching and supervision of medical students and junior medical doctors.
He welcomes referrals for any condition or symptom affecting gastrointestinal and/or liver health.
