Dr Kiran Nair is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and holds a Certificate in Addiction Psychiatry.
Dr. Kiran Nair is a specialist psychiatrist with experience across a range of inpatient and outpatient settings both within Australia and overseas. He has an interest in general adult mental health problems and, in particular, he subspecialises in the treatment of alcohol and other addiction disorders. This includes comprehensive assessment and treatment of individuals with their physical and/or mental health as a result of the use of alcohol or any other substances. His focus is on the care of the individual from detoxification to maintenance of long-term recovery. Dr Nair provides treatment in both inpatient (hospital) and outpatient basis. In addition to his private psychiatric practice at Waratah Private Hospital, he works in the public sector and is currently appointed as a Staff Specialist (Addiction Psychiatrist) for one of the major Drug & Alcohol Services within NSW Health.
Dr Nair is involved with teaching and is an accredited supervisor for the registrars in training for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. This includes his role as a casual lecturer for the Brain Mind Psychiatry Program based at the University of Sydney.
