About Dr Hany Abed

Dr Hany Abed is a Cardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist.

Dr Abed undertook his medical school training at Sydney University after completing a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree also at Sydney University. Hany completed his cardiology training at The John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, then undertook his PhD studies and fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology (heart rhythm disorders) through the University of Adelaide and Chicago, Illinois United States. Dr Abed has published international landmark studies on the management of atrial fibrillation which have shaped best practice guidelines.

Dr Hany Abed provides expert care in arrhythmia diagnosis, including non-invasive studies, diagnostic electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation of arrhythmias, implantation and follow-up of loop recorders, pacemakers (conventional and deep septal), defibrillators (conventional and subcutaneous), resynchronisation systems and complex device upgrades.
