Dr Clement Tsang is a consultant general surgeon and conjoint lecturer at UNSW with a primary interest in advanced laparoscopic or keyhole surgery. He is specialised in the field of gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery including gastric balloon, gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass operations.
Dr Tsang first obtained his medical degree at the University of Sydney in 1998. He then entered the field of general surgery with specific interest in minimally invasive surgery. he was an advanced surgical trainee at Royal North Shore and St Vincent’s Hospital where he completed his general surgery fellowship. Dr Tsang then spent a further two years at St Vincent’s Hospital sub-specialising in advanced laparoscopic, upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. Dr Tsang also offers abdominoplasty, arm and thigh lift surgery, breast augmentation and breast reduction/lift surgery and liposuction.
He also obtained training in Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong where he received training in breast and thyroid surgery. Dr Tsang also spent time in hospitals in South East Asia where he was trained in laparoscopic gastrectomy and oesophagectomy for cancer. Dr Tsang attends the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgery conference in the United States annually to further his skills and knowledge in modern surgery. Recently he trained in single incision keyhole surgery and keyhole surgery using micro-instruments.
Dr Tsang holds a Masters of Surgery degree in the management of gastrointestinal reflux disease, hiatal hernia surgery and the metabolic effect of surgery.
