About Dr Dao Guo

Dr Guo is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). He completed the majority of his specialist psychiatric training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he gained extensive experience across acute inpatient, community, and emergency psychiatric services, managing a broad range of complex mental health presentations.

The proximity of RPA to University of Sydney provided Dr Guo with extensive exposure to the mental health needs of international students, including issues related to adjustment, stress, mood disorders, anxiety and cultural transitions.

Dr Guo has a strong clinical and academic interest in substance use disorders, with particular research focus on e-cigarette use and mental health outcomes in veteran populations. He also undertook further advanced training at Liverpool Hospital, where he worked with the Early Psychosis Intervention Service, developing specialist skills in the assessment and management of severe mental illness in young people.

Dr Guo completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Western Australia, after obtaining a Bachelor of Biomedicine from the University of Melbourne.

Dr Guo has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of ADHD, mood disorders including depression, anxiety disorders, sleep, OCD, PTSD/cPTSD and international student’s mental health.

He is fluent in English and Mandarin.
