Dr Mariela Hendriks is a Consultant Physician in Rehabilitation Medicine. She is a warm and empathetic clinician who believes in the holistic care of her patients. Her role includes the diagnosis and assessment of a person’s function associated with injury, acute illness or chronic conditions and working to maximise their independence and quality of life.
Her knowledge and expertise extends to the assessment, management and medical supervision of patients. Her special interests include general reconditioning, orthopaedics and trauma rehab, geriatrics rehab, neurorehab, having published research on Parkinsonism in rehabilitation.
A passionate educator, Dr Hendriks is heavily involved in passing on her extensive knowledge in registrar rehabilitation programs. She is also involved in exam development and administration for the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM).
