Visitors are permitted to attend the hospital provided they:

– Have not tested positive to COVID-19 within the last 7 days
– Do not have COVID-19 symptoms
– Are not a high-risk contact of someone who has COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring food and drink for the person I’m visiting?

Please speak to a member of the team looking after the person you are visiting as there may be restrictions based on their individual needs.

In line with NSW Health recommendations, Waratah Private will allow up to two designated visitors per patient effective from 22/02/2022.

Visitors will be permitted to visit if they comply to NSW Health recommendations as outlined:

  • Have an up to date record of a recognised vaccine
  • Have not tested positive to COVID-19 within the last 7 days
  • Are not a high-risk contact of someone who has COVID-19 in the previous 14 days
  • Do not have COVID-19 symptoms
  • Have not returned from overseas in the past 7 days
  • Wear a surgical mask correctly on entry and for the duration of the visit.

Patients being admitted for surgery cannot have a visitor wait with them as we are unable to meet the social distancing requirements.

Parents are encouraged to stay with their child at all times when in our hospital and if the child is required to stay overnight, it is mandatory that a parent stay overnight.  A sofa bed will be provided within the room for your comfort.

Carers and loved ones wishing to stay overnight due to end of life care can discuss their individual circumstances with the Nurse Unit Manager of the ward.

 

You are welcome to telephone our reception staff prior to arriving or speak to our reception team upon entering the hospital who can direct you to the right area.

Yes, all our patient rooms have telephones next to their bed.  You may call the hospital reception who can transfer your call or speak to the ward staff when visiting and they can provide you with the direct number.
