Annual Healthcare Quality Awards

Each year, Evolution’s health services select their top-quality improvement initiatives to be judged for the best in category and supreme winner. Many of these initiatives go on to be entered into regional and national health quality awards events.

The Evolution Healthcare Annual Quality awards recognizes and rewards the achievements and innovations undertaken by staff across our multiple facilities and services.

In 2020, a total of twelve initiatives were submitted, the following are a sample of some of these initiatives:

Waratah Surgical Pathways

An effective surgical pathway aims to reduce length of stay, implement evidence-based practice, reducing risks by improving clinical processes, and reduce variation in care delivery.

To increase patient safety and health outcomes during a critical period of perioperative care by initiating a ‘protected pause’ during multidisciplinary team handover from theatre staff to Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) staff.
